Our Vitality programme is designed to help you get more out of your health insurance cover, and your Vitality status is what determines how big your rewards could be.
The more Vitality points
you earn the higher your Vitality status. You can increase your status from
Bronze where everyone starts, to Silver, Gold and with enough effort
Platinum. The more you do to look after yourself, the higher your status will
become and the greater the discounts you could receive to help you lead a
healthier lifestyle.
The following example is for a male aged 35 living in Oxford, with an Essential Plan, £0 Excess and National hospital cover. It is intended to illustrate the way the PruHealth Vitality rewards programme can affect your premium assuming no claims are made. Actual premiums will depend on individual circumstances.
| Year 1 | |
|---|---|
| Monthly base premium | £57.98 |
| First year discount (25%) | £14.50 |
| Monthly premium paid after discount | £43.49 |
| Year 2 | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly base premium (after inflation) | £64.36 | |||
| Vitality status (% of Year 1 premium earned for not claiming) | Bronze (25%) | Silver (50%) | Gold (75%) | Platinum (100%) |
| No claims bonus | £14.50 | £28.99 | £43.49 | £57.98 |
| Monthly premium paid after discount | £49.86 | £35.37 | £20.87 | £6.38 |
The example was calculated in July 2008 and is effective until 31st December 2008. These are for illustration only and your actual premium will depend on your individual circumstances. Please note that your renewal premium before any savings will rise due to your age and the effects of medical inflation, in the example above this is assumed to be a total of 11% (including age) but this is not guaranteed and may be more or less than this figure.
